Positive news on a potential vaccine offers a light at the end of the tunnel, but some people simply don’t want this to end, ever
If you thought a widely available vaccine is exactly what the doctor ordered to get back to our normal lives, you’re aren’t talking to Dr. Fauci. Here’s the good doctor on CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper, emphasis mine:
“Obviously, with a 90-plus percent effective vaccine, you could feel much more confident. But I would recommend to people to not abandon all public health measures just because you have been vaccinated, because even though, for the general population, it might be 90 to 95 percent effective, you don’t necessarily know, for you, how effective it is…I could feel more relaxed, in essentially not having the stringency of it that we have right now, but I think abandoning it completely would not be a good idea.“
Apparently, 95% effective for an illness 99% of people survive still isn’t enough.
Can someone please ask Dr. Fauci if anything will ever be enough?
