Michelle Obama fears the DMV and other wackiness in the world of the woke

The former First Lady can’t handle the grocery story, either.  In Britain, four year old girls can’t be tomboys any longer, nor can Saturday Night Live joke about much of anything.  Don’t worry though, the army and the CIA are going woke as we speak, even as a new study indicates wokeness is a road to nowhere.

“Many of us still live in fear as we go to the grocery store, walking our dogs or allowing our children to get a license,” Michelle Obama informed Gayle King on CBS This Morning earlier this week.  “I mean, just imagine … [my girls] are driving. But every time they get in a car by themselves I worry about, ‘What assumption is being made by somebody who doesn’t know everything about them?’ The fact that they are good students and polite girls, but maybe they’re playing their music a little loud. Maybe someone sees the back of their head and makes an assumption.”  “The innocent act of getting a license puts fear in our hearts,” she confessed.

Michelle Obama is the former First Lady of the United States, the wife of a former Senator before that, a woman who earned $300,000 per year before that, and one of the most popular figures in the world, literally lauded everywhere she goes.  In short, she has been at the pinnacle of power for at least 20 years and is as privileged as one can possibly be in the United States.  Her daughters have grown up in almost conceivable privilege themselves, the best possible schools, every possible advantage.  For freak’s sake, they have a vacation palace on Martha’s Vineyard that costs more than many people will make in their entire lives, even forgetting it’s doubtful they go anywhere without secret service protection, but we’re supposed to believe Michelle Obama lives in constant fear of everything and everything.

There are two possible explanations for this:  One option is she’s not really living in fear, but is simply saying it because she knows it will be lapped up by an incredibly credible media.  Sure enough, Entertainment Tonight, The Huffington Post, PopSugar.com, ScaryMommy.com, Florida News Times, The Daily Mail, and others all dutifully reported the story without question.  The general sentiment was that Michelle Obama was “addressing” the racism her daughters face with no mention that she has provided no evidence her daughters face any racism at all.  The second option is that Michelle Obama is simply delusional, obsessed with race and incapable of understanding her own power and privilege.

You can decide for yourself.  Meanwhile, over in England, they seem to believe that toddlers are capable of deciding their own gender entirely for themselves.  Stormy is a four year old girl who has expressed a belief that she has a masculine gender identity, no word on whether or not she’s also expressed a belief in Santa, the tooth fairy, or the Easter Bunny.  Either way, her mom and dad appeared on This Week, and received these words of supportive wisdom from host Holly Willoughby,  “As a society we tend to want to put people into a girl or a boy box that just fits with what we know. It makes sense, it makes us feel comfortable, but that’s not reality.”

Reality, apparently, is that tomboys are now actual boys and feminine boys are actual girls, whether or not a child as young as four actually experiences anything resembling reality and despite the fact that they won’t pass through puberty and become actual men and women for another ten years.  As an older brother to a big time tomboy of a sister, a child never afraid to mix it up in the dirt and mud with her three older brothers, I find this as close to offensive as I get these days.  My sister is now happily married with four children, one wonders if she would have been pushed into a trans-reality were she growing up today.  I should also note that, though I consider myself a red-blooded American boy, I also played with dolls at times with my sister and had a Cabbage Patch Kid and Koosa (remember those?). Perhaps I should have been reassigned as well.

The reality is that we are doing a lot of reassigning these days, to younger and younger children.  There was a staggering 1,460 percent increase in referrals for boys and an even more staggering 5,337 percent increase in referrals for girl to gender-identify services in Britain between 2009 and 2019, if only every business could grow that fast over ten years.  The important thing to keep in mind:  Despite all the talk about the evil of the patriarchy, these are thousands of young girls the woke want to turn into men, as in members of the patriarchy.  The impact on the traditional homosexual community is no laughing matter either.  A 2017 study of 4,500 children found that lesbians are 12 to 19 times more likely to be boyish as children than straight women, and 20 to 26 times more gay men are likely to be feminine as children.  We’re now turning them straight, I guess?  I thought that was bad?

Unfortunately, even Saturday Night Live is no longer a laughing matter.  Last Saturday, a skit about Generation Z featured popular online slang, colloquialisms like “bruh,” “stan,” “no cap,” and “sis.”  Certainly, it seemed harmless enough, but not to the woke.  Social media lit up, attacking the skit.  Emblematic of the reaction was a tweet from @keashere, who used colorful language to express his concerns, “white kids in Minnesota talking about ‘gang shit’ and ‘spilling tea’ bitch fuck off!”  Other users pointed out that the skit had appropriated AAVE, an acronym I admit I’ve never heard of before this week, African American Vernacular English, you really do learn something every day.

The blowback was so severe that the author of the skit, Michael Che, a black man himself, decided to reply, albeit in a somewhat joking manner.  Mr. Che took to Instagram, “I’ve been reading about how my ‘gen z’ sketch was misappropriating AAVE and I was stunned cause what the fuck is ‘AAVE’? I had to look it up. Turns out it’s an acronym for ‘African American vernacular english.’ You know, AAVE! That ol’ saying that actual black people use in conversation all the time.  Look, the sketch bombed. I’m used to that. I meant no offense to the ‘aave’ community. I love aave. Aave to the moon!”

Unfortunately, Mr. Che later took down his post for unspecified reasons.  Either way, if a black man doesn’t know what AAVE means, what hope is there for the rest of us?  Nor is this the first time Mr. Che has come under fire this year.  The woke were also upset with a joke about transgender in the military, don’t ask, don’t tuck, and the right were upset about a joke over Israel vaccinating Jewish people first.  I guess comedy just doesn’t work when the outrage machine never stops.

Speaking of what doesn’t work, the US military and CIA’s recent woke ad campaigns come to mind.   The army is seeking attendees of same sex weddings for their next generation fighting force and the CIA is apparently recruiting intersectional spies.  The army released an ad this week, “It begins in California, with a little girl raised by two moms.  Although I had a fairly typical childhood, took ballet, played violin, I also marched for equality.  I like to think I’ve been defending freedom from an early age.” This is after the CIA released a much mocked advertisement last month. “I am a woman of color. I am a mom. I am a cisgender millennial who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. I am intersectional, but my existence is not a box-checking exercise.”  This month it was “Growing up gay in a small Southern town, I was lucky to have a wonderful and accepting family. I always struggled with the idea that I may not be able to discuss my personal life at work,” a man intoned in a serious voice. “Imagine my surprise when I was taking my oath at the CIA and I noticed a rainbow on then-Director Brennan’s lanyard.”

Imagine our adversaries’ surprise at this turn of events as well.

Our adversaries were likely not the only ones surprised this week.  The woke might have been as well after a new study revealed focusing on wokeness might not be the best messaging strategy.  Yale University researchers Josh Kalla and Mica English recently tested various messaging strategies to advance progressive policies  Though this type of research had been done for decades and, normally, an association with race and minorities didn’t fare well, they were expecting to find something different after America’s year of racial reckoning.  Mr. Kalla and Mr. English took six different policies, things like increasing the minimum wage and the Green New Deal, and asked people whether or not they supported them.  For each group of participants, they emphasized a different messaging strategy, roughly race-based, class-based, or both, plus a neutral group.

Much to the dismay of the woke, they found that the class framing was more effective than either race alone or race plus class.  They conclude, “Despite observed increases in support for racial justice and Democratic elites’ use of race and class plus race frames in their public messaging, we find no evidence that Americans are persuaded by these policy frames.”  Mr. English told Newsweek, “After this summer, everyone wanted to believe that you know we had this great awakening that everyone now is aware of racial equity and we need to fix it, but I think our results suggest kind of the opposite.”

Piers Morgan put it in a less polite way in an article earlier this week:  Get woke, go broke.  But don’t tell Michelle Obama that.

  1. “The second option is that Michelle Obama is simply delusional, obsessed with race and incapable of understanding her own power and privilege”….which is pretty much exactly what they consider ‘whiteness’.

What I get out of Michelle Obama’s tales of woe is – having everything is not what it is built up to be – so what is the U.S. going to do next to keep the Obama’s satisfied since “Michelle is sick and tired of being “sick and tired. Her ploy continues to be to keep herself in the spotlight and to “keep waving the ‘race’ banner.

Maybe she needs to listen to the following:
